Email Backup

Automated Incremental Email Backup

Dropmyemail ensures that backing up your emails is simple and easy. With over 150 email configurations pre-loaded, you just need to enter your email address and password - we will handle the rest. You can also backup your office emails using IMAP or POP protocol. Backups take place automatically on a daily basis. Backups are incremental which means the same email is not backed up twice thereby saving you space. Thus, more space to backup more accounts at a lesser cost. So start backing up your Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, QQ, Sina and all other email accounts now.

Migrate and Restore emails with One Click

If you are looking for a way to switch email providers and keep your precious emails, our mail migrate feature will do just that. After authenticating your new email account, with a single click, all your emails (inbox, folders and sent items) will be migrated over. If you have deleted an email by mistake from your mail box, our email restore feature will correct it. A single click will restore your entire inbox, folders and sent items.

Attachment Manager and Attachment Sharing

The attachment manager is our way to improve your email experience. When you are searching for specific attachments in a long email chain, the attachment manager lists all email attachments in a single tab. The attachments can be previewed and sorted by file type such as images, word docs, pdfs, excel, etc. You can also share your attachments with your friends and colleagues via the various sharing options including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, email or send a customized link.

File Manager

Apart from emails, Dropmyemail also allow users to backup and share files. With the file manager, you can upload files that you would like to backup and they can be accessed from anywhere. Apart from backing up your files, you can also share them via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, email or send a customized link.

Secure Storage

We pay special attention to the security of your data. We ensure that no one other than you have access to your backup emails and files (unless shared). All emails are pulled from the mail server using Transport Layer Security (TLS) or Secure Socket Layer (SSL) when available. The mails are then encrypted using one of the strongest block ciphers available – 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Each mail is encrypted using a unique key. The unique key itself is encrypted using a regularly rotated master key. This ensures your emails’ constant protection while we back them up.

View Emails Online

In the event that your email provider is down and you do not have access to your emails, you can view them on Dropmyemail. We provide a straighforward interface to view all your emails via our web interface. The interface supports multiple email accounts. This interface comes with a multi lingual support for the following languages including English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi and Bahasa Indonesia. In the future, we will add a feature to send mails via the Dropmyemail interface.

Security

Storing your Emails

Your emails are stored securely on our servers. We use military grade encryption to ensure your data is well protected and stored on our server.

We pay special attention to security for our application and our servers. We have an experienced team that uses the best engineering practice and tools to develop the product.

We use AES 256 bit encryption and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Our files are stored on Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3). Amazon S3 itself has its own robust security policy of its own, details of which can be found here :

Some of the key security features of Amazon AWS

1.    Amazon S3 is accessible via SSL encrypted endpoints.

2.    Data is encrypted by 256 bit AES encryption before been stored on the server.

3.    Amazon EC2 provides a complete firewall solution. Only explicitly opened ports are allowed with the possibility of restricting only certains IPs to access the servers.

4.    Amazon uses Standard Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) mitigation techniques such as syn cookies and connection limiting.

Backing up your Email

Dropmyemail’s backup servers connect to your mail server using Secure Socket Layer( SSL) protocol. We use IMAP or POP3 based on the available connection and fetch the data. All the emails that are fetched are encrypted. We do not fetch any email in plain text. Thus your data is always secure and protected.

Access to Emails

Your emails can only be accessed by your account. No other user with a Dropmyemail account has access to your files unless you decide to explicitly share specific files with them. Dropmyemail employees are prohibited from viewing your account and email backups. We follow best-in-class practices where we have a small team of trusted and verified employees who must be able to access user data for the reasons stated in our privacy policy (e.g., when legally required to do so). We have a strict policy and access controls for these employees that prohibit them to access the data except for these rare situations. All employees are required to act under our strict compliance guidelines.

We ensure that your emails are stored securely on our servers. We have proper security policies in place to ensure that your files are protected from unauthorized access.
